The DGS-1008P is part of D-Link Green,D-Link's eco-friendly technology,providing energy savings,reduced power consumption,and a longer product lifespan without sacrificing operational performance or functionality. This switch implements the Green Ethernet technology,which can save a substantial amount of energy by detecting the connected cable lengths,adjusting the power accordingly;and the port status,putting them in low-power,stand-by mode when no network traffic is detected. Thanks to these power reductions,D-Link has been able to remove the fans in the DGS-1008P's design,making it completely silent and dramatically increasing its lifespan.
